1st class have had a busy week learning all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths for STEM Week! Here are some of the things we got up to!
On Monday Anyone4Science came and did their ‘Fantasic Physics’ demonstration for us!
On Tuesday, we did lots of engineering activities in the hall!
On Wednesday we did a class experiment to see the reaction between food dye and water. Here is what happened!
On Thursday we collaborated with 4th Class. Half of our class went to Denis’ class and half of their class came to us. The children worked together to design different variations of paper airplanes!

STEM Week Speakers!
Thank you to all our speakers who came in to share their knowledge and experience with the class!
Shilin’s parents; Shamantha and Gautam came in and we learned how to write a computer program!
Aseel’s mum Sozan told us about her work as a doctor and brought in some of her medical devices to show the class.
Raima’s parents; Taruna and Pankaj came into class and we learned about the computer programming used for airlines and booking holidays.
Nikita’s Dad Sergii taught us about electricity circuits with a demonstration that the children got a lot of amusement from!
Amy’s Dad, Adam told us all about his job as a software engineer.
Leah’s parents; Louise and John came in and we got to see the heart beating through the ultrasound machine!
We have been reading stories as well as designing rangoli patterns and making our own diya light holders.
We would like to say a big thank you to Aarav’s parents Sheel and Neelambari for coming in to talk to us about Diwali. They showed the children how to make their own diyas out of dough and very kindly treated everyone to a goody bag to celebrate Diwali!
