- [Safer Internet Day 2026](https://acetns.ie/2026/02/11/safer-internet-day-2026/): On Tuesday 10th February to mark Safer Internet Day 2026 in ACETNS celebrations were based around the theme, “AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control”. 5th & 6th class were exploring the risks and benefits of AI, with other class levels exploring themes such as cyberbullying, device usage and rules at home. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class looked at Cyberbullying. Junior and Senior Infants learned about the difference between real and fake. - [School Closures](https://acetns.ie/2026/01/30/school-closures/): A reminder that our school will be closed next Monday 2nd February due to a public bank holiday and also on next Friday 6th February due to a school planning day as required under the new curriculum. We are assigned a day and have no input into when it is selected. There will be one more closure day in term 3 (Friday 8th May) for the new primary curriculum.
- [Leinster Champions](https://acetns.ie/2026/01/30/leinster-champions/): For the second year running we are Leinster Primary School Badminton Champions. Last year our boys were victorious and this year our girls came out on top in the Schools Competition in Baldoyle yesterday. Very proud team memebers showed their medals off in Assembly this morning. Our boys team were very unlucky to get beaten at the semi final stage by one point. They also played excellently and represented the school really well. Both teams progress to the All Irelands later in the year.

We met to elect the new positions for the new PGTA 2025/26. Congratulations to the new PGTA: Points discussed: We look forward to hosting the Halloween Disco tomorrow. The times are as follows: We welcome all volunteers and look forward to seeing all the creepy costumes on the night. Our next meeting is on the 10th November in the staffroom in ACETNS at 7pm. - [Digital Divide Grant](https://acetns.ie/2025/06/30/digital-divide-grant/): This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase sixteen chrome tablets as part of our school’s Digital Learning Strategy. - [End of School Year](https://acetns.ie/2025/06/28/end-of-school-year/): We waved goodbye to our wonderful 6th Class at Graduation on Wednesday. There were a few tears as we heard memories of their time in ACETNS, speeches from Conor, Tom and Aisling and a slideshow which reminded us of the many happy days in our school. Our traditional whole school guard of honour on yard followed. On Friday we also hosted a very special whole school Assembly. Senior Sports Day (which was postponed due to the bad weather last week) took place in Lucan Sarsfields. Over the past 9 days, events which took place included hurling with Conor and Grace, rugby with Paddy D, Cricket with Mitchell from Cricket Leinster, tennis with Enzo from Tennis Ireland and volleyball from Lina in Volleyball Ireland. - [Junior Infants 25/26](https://acetns.ie/2025/05/27/junior-infants-25-26/): This evening we will welcome the parents of the incoming Junior Infants for the 2025/26 school year to the school for an information talk. This was an event as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Niall entertained Junior- 2nd Class, 3rd & 4th Class and finally 5th & 6th Class with stories of Irish legends and much more. The children really enjoyed his energy and humour.

The highlights of the week without doubt were our céilís on Wednesday and our parade on Thursday. Thank you to all the parents who dressed their children in green and also to all those who came out to support us during the parade. Walking through ACC to a huge welcome was a very special moment. Our music school began the morning with beautiful songs and our PA gave out teas and coffees to guests who watched on. Our Adamstown Creative Crew (or A.C Crew!) have been working for the last number of weeks on a number of individual art projects, as well as one collaborative group project – a tepee! - [Halloween Assembly](https://acetns.ie/2024/10/25/halloween-assembly/): Senior Infants hosted a spooky Assembly this morning. They performed 5 Little Pumpkins and danced to Ghost Busters. Grainne played a game of dress up bingo which was a huge hit and Tom was helped to dress up by children in 4th Class. A lovely way to begin our mid term break.

- [World Mental Health Day](https://acetns.ie/2024/10/14/world-mental-health-day/): Our Tree of Kindness Thank you so much to Suzanna and to Gemma in Adamstown Youth & Community Centre for allowing us to borrow the community’s beautiful Kindness Tree for our assembly recognising World Mental Health Day 2024. It has inspired us to make our own tree where children can post their own beautiful messages of kindness and positivity. They can also take a message home with them that has been written/drawn by someone else. This way, the mental health benefits we can get by receiving and sharing kindness can spread throughout our school community and beyond!

Thank you to 6th class who talked about respectful communication. They read out lovely acrostic poems also. 2nd class will be performing in Junior Assembly next week.
- [2nd and 3rd Class Athletics](https://acetns.ie/2024/09/13/2nd-and-3rd-class-athletics/): 2nd and 3rd class welcomed Niamh from Athletics Ireland to school on Thursday. The children learned about relay races and passed the baton on yard. Niamh will be with us for the next six weeks working with the classes on various aspects of the athletics strand. Thank you Niamh.
- [Graduation](https://acetns.ie/2024/06/26/graduation/): It was an emotional day today in ACETNS as we waved goodbye to this year’s 6th class. Conor’s and Aisling’s class retold their memories from their years in the school. This was followed by speeches from Aisling, Tom and Conor. A slideshow of various pictures over the year and our traditional guard of honour ended a lovely afternoon in our school. Don’t be strangers, you’re always welcome here.

As our lovely 6th class pupils will be leaving ACETNS next week, they came forward and said that they wanted to thank the teachers by planning and teaching a lesson with the children from Junior Infants to 5th Class. 6th Class pupils taught Alanna’s Junior Infants a Maths lesson all about 2D shapes. - [Petting Zoo](https://acetns.ie/2024/06/19/petting-zoo/): A huge thanks to our Parents Association who organised a Petting Zoo for our school yesterday. All classes got an opportunity to view and pet the pigs, horse, lamb, chickens, rabbit, snake, goat and guinea pigs. A firm favourite was the puppy. Our annual Active Week was a hive of activity in the school. Tennis Ireland visited on Monday for Junior Classes and gave a mini tennis lesson. Next we viewed some of Jack Yeat’s oil paintings. We particularly liked The Liffey swim in which he featured himself and his wife. We learned that this painting was awarded a silver medal in the Art category of the Olympic games in 1924 and Above the fair one of his abstract art pieces. Next we viewed some of John Lavery’s work. - [Two Victorious Teams Represent ACETNS in FAI Football Tournament](https://acetns.ie/2024/04/24/two-victorious-teams-represent-acetns-in-fai-football-tournament/): 24th April 2024 What a success for students from 3rd to 6th class, who represented our school in the FAI Football for All tournament, held in the Sports Ireland Complex in Adamstown. Great skill and teamwork were on display from both our teams, participating in the tournament for the first time. It was a very proud day for players and coaches that ended in a fabulous sing song on the bus on the way home celebrating great play, goals and even hat tricks!

- [ACETNS Girls Football Finish the league with a draw !!!](https://acetns.ie/2024/04/23/acetns-girls-football-finish-the-league-with-a-draw/): ACETNS Girls Football singed off their league campaign with a 0-0 draw earlier today in Airlie Park against St. Andrews Primary School Lucan. This has been a fantastic football season for the girls. We have finished 3rd in the league and won our first ever cup game (on penalties) .. the excitement was real !! . - [ACETNS GIRLS FOOTBALL WIN 3-1 AGAINST OUR NEIGHBOURS ST.JOHN'S IN THE LEAGUE !!!!](https://acetns.ie/2024/04/10/acetns-girls-football-win-3-1-against-our-neighbours-st-johns-in-the-league/): A brilliant performance by our girls football team today with a great win in the derby against our neighbors St. John’s playing at home in Airlie Park. The girls ran out 3-1 winners with two goals from our brilliant Stricker Lamees, one from play and one from the penalty spot. Our other goal was brilliantly set up by Ema and finished to the net by Matilda. All girls on the team contributed to a great game. The girls now have two league left and are right in the mix. The lads were over the moon to beat our neighbours 7 – 2. They played in a thrilling game against a very tough Corduff school then, unfortunately losing out 6-5. It was an incredibly brave performance from the boys who fought their way back from 4-1 down to get back to 4-4 before playing out a very dramatic and nerve wracking last 20 minutes. She spoke to us about her background, her career so far and representing Ireland. Our pupils were then given an opportunity to ask a question back. Ita had played a huge role in making our school the special place that it is today. We had a Whole School Assembly followed by a lunch with past colleagues, parents and pupils. They learned about safety and how to stay in control of their bikes. They have five more weeks of lessons ahead.
