Autism Awareness Week

Autism Awareness Week is being celebrated in the school from the 27th – 31st March.
Stay tuned to acetns.ie for more information!!

The children in the school have been learning about how many children with autism experience their surroundings differently, with a sensory overload!!

The teachers were also very lucky today to have Brian from Autism awareness Ireland come and talk to us about how we can be more aware of the different ways children learn.

On Friday the school will have a big sponsored walk to raise money for equipment for the sensory garden and the den. The children have been given sponsorship cards and it would be great if you could help in any way you can. Hope to see everyone there!

This years Seachtain na Gaeilge was another great success! Thank you to all the dancers, musicians, teachers and parents who made it so special. Special thanks to Zara for her hard work in getting all the children ready for the Céilí Mór and Aisling for organising another great Seachtain na Gaeilge. We also now have a beautiful mural on the yard outside the hall helping us learn a ‘cúpla focal as gaeilge'(couple of words in Irish).

Pancake Tuesday

Plenty of excitement around the school on Tuesday 28th February as many classes made and ate their own pancakes. For Catholics Shrove Tuesday, often called Pancake Tuesday, is the feast day and official start of Lent, (the 40 days before Easter). It is a time of fasting and people often try give up something during this time or try to improve themselves some how during this time.
