Welcome to Diarmuid’s 6th Class page. Here is a brief summary of some of the cool things we have been covering in our class this year:
Lucan Village
We have been learning about Lucan Village in Geography and compared the physical and human elements to Adamstown. We then created a model of Lucan made from cardboard. Have a look at the pictures.

Music in ACC
Adamstown Community College invited 6th class to participate in a Music Workshop in January. Orlaith and Diarmuid’s class played some warm up rhythm games in the PE hall, followed by a piano and singing workshop. Our day concluded with a performance of ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra. Thanks to ACC for the workshop.
Marathon Kids

6th Class completed the last mile of their Marathon in December. They had been running the total length of a Marathon for the previous eight weeks. This was also used as a fundraiser for Crumlin Children’s Hospital. The children received medals and t shirts on the day. Well done everyone.
Lavender bags
Huge thanks to Edina (Danial’s mother) who very kindly worked with our class on creating lavender bags. The children designed a winter image and Edina printed these on fabric and presented the bags to the class. Thanks Edina, very much appreciated.
Visit by Brian O ‘ Donovan from RTE News.

Brian is the Work and Technology Correspondent for RTE News. He spoke to us about his career thus far including his four year spell in America as Washington Correspondent for RTE. Our class were given opportunity to ask questions at the end and he was very impressed with our level of questioning. Thanks to Brian for taking the time to visit our class.
6th Class Outing to Hillscrest
We have worked very hard in class during September and October so Orlaith and Diarmuid decided to bring our two 6th classes on an outing to Hillcrest Shopping Centre where we purchased a hot chocolate/tea. While children visited the coffee shop, others played on the green nearby. We also visited Tandy’s Lane Park on our way home. The weather was dry and all had a lovely day prior to the Halloween holidays.
