Month: February 2017
World Book Day
There will be a variety of children’s authors reading their stories in Lucan library on the 4th of March to celebrate world book day.
January & February
January was Anti-bullying month, the children learned a great deal about being kind to each other and the importance of telling an adult when you think someone is being bullied. Diarmuid’s class gave a great assembly performances about dealing with bullies and giving compliments. Denis’ class also gave a great performance about mental health and wellbeing.
February: This month we are learning about Shrove Tuesday(Pancake Tuesday) and Ash Wednesday.
Chinese New year
Saturday, January 28th was Chinese New year. We are lucky enough in our school to have children from so many countries. During Friday’s assembly some children from first and second class, with help from a parent, explained how they celebrate Chinese new year in their homes.
Dublin V Mayo
This year Dublin and Mayo reached the All-Ireland Gaelic football final. After 65 years Mayo thought they would finally get their chance to bring the Sam Maguire cup home but after the final was repeated for time, Dublin were victorious. Some of the team brought the cup to the school to show the kids….and some tried to lift it!
