Active Assembly
We began with a quick yoga session to centre ourselves. 6th class children and Denis demonstrated the poses.
This was followed up by a number of Teacher Student challenges.
6th class student Kevin challenged Teacher Kevin to a wall sit.
They both started off strong but Kevin (student) was the champion.
Alongside them Emer , one of our 2nd class teachers was challenged to see how long she could stand on one leg, her opponent was Noor from 2nd Class.
Again the students were victorious with Noor just managing to outdo Emer.
Another student Aidas from 6th class challenged one of our teachers Graham to see how many keepie uppies he could do, Aidas succeeded by far with around 70 to Grahams meagre 22.
Stephanie from 2nd class challenged a teacher to a hoola hoop workout! Stephanie was such a strong competitor , she could still be hoola hooping!!!
Gabrielus another 6th class student challenged his teacher to do the long jump. Whilst Aisling did her very best , she fell just short of his amazing leap.
Mia, one of our 3rd class students challenged Teacher Molly to a skipping contest. The teachers earned their first point in this competition.
The final challenge was another keepie uppy challenge of sorts , this time with a hurling twist between two teachers Conor and Grace against Luka (1st Class) and Sarah (6th Class)
It was a close call but Conor, our 6th class teacher reigned supreme for this challenge.
We capped the assembly with another round of our whole school active dance An Dreoilín
