This week, 6th Class pupils organised a ‘Teacher Takeover’ morning. As our lovely 6th class pupils will be leaving ACETNS next week, they came forward and said that they wanted to thank the teachers by planning and teaching a lesson with the children from Junior Infants to 5th Class.
6th Class pupils taught Alanna’s Junior Infants a Maths lesson all about 2D shapes. CJ’s class had a lovely PE lesson full of games and bean bag skills and Olivia’s class made some beautiful ice pop art!
ClÃodhna’s Senior Infants created some beautiful fish art and Ailbhe’s Senior Infants were taught a lovely maths lesson!
Both 1st classes were treated to two very fun PE lessons. Stephanie’s class loved playing dodgeball and Aisling’s Class had soccer drills, finishing up with a soccer match!
PE was a very popular choice amongst the 6th Class children when they chose what subject they would teach. Both 2nd classes had a very well planned basketball session with dribbling skills, passing skill and shooting practise.
Cáit’s 3rd class created some beautiful space scenes using black paper and chalk pastels and Grace’s 3rd Class had a maths lesson, focussing on multiplication skills and games too!
6th Class helped Chloe’s 4th Class create some beautiful jellyfish art and Paddy’s 4th Class had a brilliant PE lesson with dodgeball and lots of games!
Molly’s 5th Class enjoyed a pop art lesson, focussing on the features of pop art and the history of Roy Lichtenstein while Paddy’s 5th Class had a very interesting History lesson all about space travel with a group Kahoot! quiz to finish.
A huge to thank you to all the 6th class pupils who worked so hard to plan and prepare the lessons. Teacher Takeover 2024 was a huge success!
