On Tuesday 10th February to mark Safer Internet Day 2026 in ACETNS celebrations were based around the theme, “AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control”.

5th & 6th class were exploring the risks and benefits of AI, with other class levels exploring themes such as cyberbullying, device usage and rules at home.

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class looked at Cyberbullying.

Junior and Senior Infants learned about the difference between real and fake.

There is a lot of information and advice out there for parents/guardians including a guide published today by CyberSafe Kids in conjunction with the HSE.

 www.webwise.ie and the National Parents’ Council are also great sources of information and tips for parents. 

Please use Safer Internet Day as an opportunity for you to ‘Have the Chat’ with your child(ren) about their practices online and how you can work together to ensure their safety.
